Photolithography is an important manufacturing process that relies on using photoresists, typically polymer formulations, that change solubility when illuminated with ultraviolet light. Introduction. Lithography (in Greek “Lithos”—stone; “graphein”—to write) is a planographic printing technique using a plate or stone with a smooth surface. Before describing the key sub-systems, some general observations are in order.
